Free W-25 hood D:

Well i found my project car, and as they say, "you'll know when a car is meant for you because it will pick you rather than you picking it" Well its true, this car came out of the woodwork, the guy called me asking if id like to buy it, turns out it was just a few miles away, went to see it, its a 72' Supreme, pretty much everything i wanted minus the fastback. The guy had a W-25 hood he had bought for it and we were negotiating a price for the hood on top of the car. Well i paid the guy half the money for the car, the other half is coming either today or tomorrow. I just called him about picking it up and he says he'll just throw the hood in with the deal Im pretty stoked at this point. I checked it, it is a 2-piece fiberglass/steel frame hood, has a few blemishes but nothing that cant be fixed. Im pretty eager to get started on this project now, its awesome that fellow enthusiests can be so generous and helpful, especially when theres so many gold-diggers out there in the muscle car hobby.

When was the last time you heard of getting a free original W-25 hood without stealing it? xD

Yes Scott, bought the car off Steve Rozzel who you sold the roof too a few months ago. We were talking about you just a little bit ago actually and how helpful youve been on the Olds scene haha. Apparently he found a project hes really interested in, saw that i was looking for a project for my 455 and cut me a sweet deal on it. So i guess i should be thanking you for the roof! haha. Steves a really good guy, hes been so helpful that i made a deal with him to give him my 350 once i get my 455 done if he needs it. This is one of those circumstances where the deal is so good i wish i had more money so i could give him a fair amount and not feel guilty haha. I'll definatly be helping him out with whatever project he comes across next, its the least i can do.

I just made a trip over to his place and gave him the rest of the money for the car and picked up the title, so it will be coming home soon. I'll be keeping everyone updated when i start getting some progress done on the project.

Also Scott, sorry about not getting back to you about the Skylark, things got pretty hectic while i was arranging this deal with Steve and it totally slipped my mind to call you up about it. I may know someone interested in it though i'll let you know if he's still interested

72 Supreme's are one of my favorite. Nice score - I look at it as you paid a decent amount of money for the hood but got a free car

I'll get it out and on the road as soon as possible. Not sure if i could make the next show though, its got quite a bit of work that needs done and as the budget allows its probly gonna be a rolling project for a while. The goal however is a triple black 71' SX clone with hurst dual gate shifter

haha, thanks, yeah thats exactly how ive been describing it. All this for $1600 but hopefully i can pay it back a little more later if the guy ever needs it. Honestly i was looking for a fastback and settled on a supreme but the more i look at them the more i like them. Plus theres a lot more 442s out there than SXs and i like to be original so this works great for me

I feel like a theif...
haha. Yeah i know, it was way too good of a deal to pass up even without the hood as theres a lot of misc parts that come with it as well including new front and rear bumpers and the new roof. I almost feel bad for taking the deal haha, i guess it was just meant to be
