Framing stuff---prints, art, etc--anyone here do this themselves?
Framing stuff---prints, art, etc--anyone here do this themselves?
I have a fairly large volume of things I need to frame. Way too many to pay retail for someone else to do.
Looking for ideas on good suppliers, etc for the fairly simple metal frames (different colors), mat material, etc.
Anyone make their own mats?
Just looking for ideas...the volume I am dealing with would probably justify a decent mat cutting set up, etc.
Thanks.

For a large volume of matting, then a matting table would be a good idea. If this is a business, then you should be able to get all of the related supplies very cheap through suppliers. I have a buddy that is a photographer, and his supplies, such as frames, glass, etc. are really cheap, as his business is licensed. If I need a frame, I can get it at his cost, which is pretty cheap considering what mat and frame shops charge. Otherwise someplace like the Hobby Lobby can do it cheaply, but they cut corners with the backing (cardboard). You can also buy the sizes of frames that you need and precut matting to do it yourself.
