At least the rear bumper looks solid. Most 61s in that shape, the bumper is rotted out.

I have seen that too, but this car is pretty rust free for the most part. I know it has some issues, but overall it is s real solid car.
I wish I could start on it right now.

Are you doing a factory restoration or making a car with some fun?

I will have some fun with this one. The body will be stock, as I don't think it can be any better. I like the look of the stock interiors too. the drivetrain will be updated, and nice wheels along with some cool wheels.
So kind of a mix of new and old.

Actually, I have found several surprises already in trying to get parts and rebuilding the engine. But sure, anything you have a question with, I keep all my resource info on where to get parts. I have a machine shop at home so many of the parts I make, but it is getting COMPLETELY restored, nearly every nut and bolt, back to factory.

It is pretty much in pieces right now, as I am just finishing rebuilding everything before I start putting it back together. I do have the front end all done, had fun finding lower control arm bushings, Kanter had them but they were out of spec, which many aftermarket ones are. Finally found the right fit from rare parts. Also the sway arm bracket bushings everyone carries is for a .500 diameter arm. Mine is a 7/8 diam. the same as a 1961 starfire. But yeh, I will get some pics posted of the finished engine, dash and other things completed.
