firestone wide oval

i saw in the for sale section a couple of firestone wide oval g70-14 tires. was wondering if anybody could decipher the numbers that are listed to confirm a date. would be nice to have a true/correct spare for the right price.

The US DOT standardized the format for coding tires to take place during the 1971 model year.

the format used was: AABB CC?WWY

AA = manufacturing plant - codes can be found here - http://www.harriger.com/tires.htm
BB = tire size
CC? (2 or 3 digits) = tire type
WW = week of manufacture
Y = last digit of year of manufacture (for the '70s, '80s, '90s - it changed to 2 digits starting in 2000 "00")

VCLF Y49405

VC = Albany, GA Firestone plant
LF = G70-14
Y49 = (fiberglass belted w/rwl?)
405 = 40th week of 1975

Here are a set of 4 G70-14 Firestones & their DOT numbers.

Z00W132P: this is an early SUP-R-BELT (pre-'71 DOT standardization) the SUP-R-BELT (polyester cord with fiberglass belts) became available sometime during the 1969 calendar year. I'm sure at some point there was some Firestone knowledge that would translate this "serial number" as far as where & when it was produced. I have not seen any decode info on these "pre-'71" Firestone numbers.

VCLF Y4A403: notice recessed POLYESTER/FIBERGLASS text near bead (one may be "413"?)
VC = Albany, GA Firestone plant
LF = G70-14
Y4A = (fiberglass belted w/RWL?)
403 = 40th wk of '73

VKLF Y4A086: notice stylized "F" on both ends of the "SUP-R-BELT"
VK = Salinas, CA Firestone plant
LF = G70-14
Y4A = (fiberglass belted w/RWL?)
086 = 8th wk of '76
