Finally!

Not many of you know but for the past three years I've been trying to gain disability from a freak accident back in August of 2009. I finally won my case back on May 4th and will finally be getting some cash to work on the car.

I hope to show my progress here as I go along. I love the good info shared on this site and I'm sure I'll have many questions as my resto progresses. Thanks in advance to all of you for your help and expertise.

George
(No it's not Alex)

Glad it worked out. Disability claims can be tough. What gets me is people whom it's obvious have a legitimate claim DON'T get it, but some yahoo scrubs the skin off his toe gets it no questions asked.

You will always have Alex with you... though I'm sure there's people here who have no idea who Alex is.

I would fit into that category, lol. I'm clueless.... Anyhow, congrats on getting your disability! I'm sure it's a load of frustration and aggrevation off of your mind!

Sandy,

They're referring to Alex Delarge in the movie Clock work Orange. That's the wierd looking dude in TripDeuces avatar. Ya should have paid more atention when you and Larry were courting at the Drive-in.

Glad to hear it, George, though I'm sorry that you need it in the first place.

As far as people getting disability who don't need it, I've seen cases of muscular guys in their twenties on disability (for life) for dyslexia and ADD.

Heckuva country...

Maybe yer doctor'll prescribe you some "milk-plus" and you just won't care anymore!

Gotta say it- it was one of the most disturbing movies (and book before that) I've ever seen/ read. I did a book report on it in 10th grade- teacher said she should have flunked me for going out on a limb like I did with that book, but of all her English 10 students, I was one of the few she thought could handle it. Hm- she said the same thing when I reported out "Slaughterhouse-Five".

Helped that I had a very erudite uncle who delighted in discussing books like these at length with me. My Uncle Gene was the closest thing I ever knew to a Renaissance Man.

Let's hope your disability does not affect your ability to work on cars!
