Finally a 442 Owner

Finally a 442 Owner
All,
It has been my dream car ever since I can remember...
My neighbor and fire chief of New Milford, NJ had a 1970 442 agean aqua convertible that I used to stop on my bicycle everyday and stare at it in his driveway.
Finally at age 41 I was able to purchase my own 442. Priced out of a '70 vert today, my new car is a 1971 442 convertible finished in it's original color nordic blue code 24. The original matching numbers 455, trans/rear, dual gate shifter and interior are also still with the car which I am the third owner.
Engine was rebuilt by the previous owner and the car has been resprayed at some point. I would have preferred they went with the non W30 side striping, but still like it this way. Thornton hood and OAI assembly added via purchase from Bob Anderson in Florida.
It is the best running car I have owned and is a true pleasure to drive. People seem to smile at it wherever I go and I do the same. Plan to redo the interior carpet etc at some point and maybe add a tic toc tach, but otherwise happy to just keep driving it as much as possible.
Here are some pics!
Thanks for all the knowledge sharing over the years!
Cheers,
Bill
