feel like I'm missing an arm

Yes, it's that time of year again. Time to pack up and store away my '71 vert. It's just too much of a worry to try and drive her up here in the northeast during the winter. Between all of the crazy DC drivers, and the road salt, it's just safer to put her away.

I do feel like I'm missing an arm though.

I keep myself going by slowly building up a replacement part pile for the spring (kind of like a squirrel storing nuts). That way, I'll have lots to do come Easter. But, sometimes it just makes the winter drag even slower.

That's why I ride snowmobiles. That way putting one hobby to bed for the year means the start of another and vice versa.

I put my car up last fall (2013) for some needed resto work. I filled the void by buying ( and unfortunately) selling an 86 442 and buying another car to replace that. Plus living thru other peoples build threads and as chadman pointed out snowmibiles, very therapeutic LOL. So in short I know how you feel, but come spring it will be great to fire it up again and take it for a drive knowing the few months you didn't drive it added years to your cars lifetime....just ask my11YO truck whose rust problems made me decide this is its last winter, even tho it runs and drives great the extent of rust damage limits it's useful life
