Question favorite driving song?

saw an old episode of top gear last night about best driving songs and it got me thinkin..i can never really make the PERFECT mix for driving so i thought i would ask my follows olds-junkies what is their favorite song for driving..cruising or haulin down the highway. for a young fellow like myself its not too common but i fancy everything from Bach's cello suites all the way to extremely heavy metal(noise to most folks) but seem to stick with ac/dc, motorhead, and sabbath . i'm not looking for just music that has to do with cars or racing but just simply something you enjoy, maybe something that makes you automatically weld your foot to the floor but i'm sure you all get the picture

feel free to label it JTA's perfect mix when it's done

Must be a much different arrangement than the original Dylan snoozefest. Easily one of his worst songs ever.

For my modern more aggressive music for my 442 or z28 cruising.
Slipknot - Psychosocial

My taste varies, I'm 37 and grew up to my fathers classic rock.
But I grew up in the 80's with heavy metal.

So for my classic tune, it would be
The Who - Eminence Front

This song is one of my favorites to play downtown Chicago at night.
Roll the windows down, and cruise through the city lights.....chillin.
I think it has the best vibe with a setting.

Don Henley ? ....I think we all can agree that AC / DC is definetely one , the older i get the slower the music is getting though....it seem there is two catagories....putting the pedal to the metal music and enjoying your ride music....which brings up more good bands like...The Cars greatest hits and The Guess Who

"Building the perfect beast" was my theme song (and album) for when I was assembling the GTI Driver's Edition from the shell up.

It turned out nicely, and the music fit. A mix disk with that song has remained in the CD changer ever since. Going on almost 10 years now. wow... "Tempus Fugit"

Radar love is one of those songs that is always in my car. I also have been listening to Nickelback's Animal a lot in the car lately. And Pink Floyd is a staple in my vehicle - anything by PF...

Put the top down on a hot summer night* and cruise the highway with "Hotel California" cranked. You'll get a whole new perspective on DH and the gang.

*Which brings to mind I listed "Bat Out Of Hell" by Meatloaf, but really almost any song from that album is a good cruisin' song.

Opeth- Harlequin Forest
Fear Factory- Demanufacture
Killswitch Engage- The Rose of Sharyn
Into Eternity- Black Sea of Agony

Too many more to list but these are the first to come to mind...a little on the heavy side but "motivational" to say the least. Forgive me, this music is my second love after my Olds.

For slow cruising:
Hank Williams Sr or Roger miller

I'm 16 and this modern music is awfully disappointing.

I know, I know, but most old-school gangsta rap does the job. All those references to '64s (NWA) and Oldsmobiles (Public Enemy) make it a little endearing. Heck, maybe it'll replace the Beach Boys at car shows one day.

I'm 21 and I hear ya, I only like a few modern bands. For driving, Rock and roll by Zeppelin is one of the best songs to put your foot down to. Anything by Zeppelin for me is great to drive to.

Gordon Lightfoot is good traveling music too. Carefree Highway is one of the best.

I hope to hell not. When it does, my car show days are OVER. 50s music at top volume is bad enough to listen to all day, and the DJ's won't turn it down. And seems like the class I'm in is always stuck right next to the PA speakers.
