Fake W30 for auction

Just a Heads-up. Vicari Auctions is offering a 1970 "W30" for sale in its upcoming Florida auction. The car is NOT a W30), it isnt even a 442. Its a Cutlass S with a J headed 455, red fender wells, 442 emblems, and a W25 hood. Nothing matches on this fake.

Should be interesting to see what it will bring as they (auction company) pretty clearly state in the video and the write up that it is a w30 and as you stated it is clearly not.

If the car is advertised a 442, and is not a 442, Vicari, and the owner, may be facing civil fraud charges.

The Auction Site now claims it is a "Mirror Image" W30, born as a Cutlass.

That would be a 33687 VIN. 342xxx is a Cutlass Supreme VIN.

Does anyone know when the listing was clarified? Asking only because this thread may be monitored by the seller.

Wow, a Cutlass S from Fremont.

Actually, this line is the funniest thing I've read in a long time:

"IT WOULD TAKE AN EXPERT TO KNOW THIS CAR WAS NOT BORN A W-30"

For those who care, here's the direct link to the auction.

We need Joe P to identify the code on the broadcast card for the " mirror image" option.

Hold your screen up to a mirror.

Actually, maybe RPO 0EW would have been a better choice.

I get the sense the ad copy was written by the guy who writes the Harbor Freight instructions.

While I don’t want to see anyone taken advantage of, anyone who spends that kind of money on a car without doing some research either doesn’t care if it’s not the real deal, or has more money than automotive knowledge, or a combination of both.

What advantages do the other 10 bolts on the boxed control arms offer, other than ballast?

I believe they demonstrate that whoever wrote the ad copy doesn't understand punctuation.

There will be no end to the poetic license Reborn, Reworked, Sanctioned, 442 Actual, when I sell mine 442 Executive Salon in the description.

Nope, it can't be that. You've transposed your digits. More like 33687. 87 is a hardtop coupe whereas 67 is a convertible (only offered on CS models)
