Factory wheels (1960's)

I recently saw a beautiful, unmolested 442 at a car show in Alliance Ohio. It was dark red and I believe it was a 1965. Regardless, it had factory wheels that had been chromed. The owner told me that those were an option and mentioned some code....N96? I could be way off but he definitely mentioned a code. Does anyone have any knowledge on these style of wheels?

Code N95 was wire wheel covers for many years and most models.

Could be the rare N98 (I believe) one year only options for 65's that look like chrome reverse...if so very cool.

They do, but the ones you linked to aren't them. The Wheel Vintiques 32 series in your link are just chromed versions of the Chevy Rally wheels.

The N98 wheels are normal steel wheels that are chromed. Wheel Vintiques 64 series are a lot closer.

Yup, though each one will likely cost as much as a set of four from Summit...

Wow, I think the 65 442 I owned in the early 80’s had that option. Looked just like that to my mind’s eye but can’t trust memory for things like that, could have been aftermarkets but interesting thread all the same.
