explain reverse valve body with all forward gears

Was wondering if someone can explain how a reverse valve body works and how you shift it and if it would be good to keep for a street strip car

The whole point of a reverse valve body is to make the shift pattern P-N-R-1-2-3. That way, when you are upshifting during a race, you don't accidentally shift from 2 all the way to R, which tends to get exciting at speed.

So long as you don't mind the difference, there's no reason not to use it on the street.

Just make sure that the reverse valve body still shifts automatically, unless you like manually shifting at every stoplight and corner.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

It's handy for bracket racing as well.
My old shifter used to skip 3rd and go into neutral if I hit it too hard, and I went out a few rounds early because of it. Thank god for rev limiters.

I had a '80 Z28 Camaro with a manual reverse valve body trans. it was fun to drive but spend some time getting used to the pattern. after that they are fun if you dont mind shifting it.
