Exciting Day!
So I finally was reunited with my 1968 442 a few weeks ago after parking her in a barn for the past 9 years while I served in the United States Air Force. When I finally pulled her out, there was about 100lbs worth of **** and **** under the hood as a pack rat decided to make it his home. So I got her all torn down and cleaned out. I got a little anxious and decided to change the oil, get a battery and a gas tank and see if she would even start after sitting for 9 years. And would you believe it! I turned her over once and she didn't fire. I poured a little gas in the carb and it fired instantly and is running like a champ! I could not believe after sitting for 9 years in a barn I didn't even have to tinker with the motor, that it fired right up! How awesome is that!
That is great. It is ausum that the wires were not eaten up by the rats. a '68 Cutlass/442 is what my next find will be.
Great job and a great big thank you for serving your country.
