Engine and tranny removal

I want to remove the engine and auto trans from my car to do some detailing and such. The front clip is already removed. Can I take the engine and trans out while there bolted together or remove them individually?

They can be removed either way.

If the front clip is off it is probably easier to take them both out together... Can be a pain getting the bolts out between the engine and tranny... I put the new ones in the same way, bolted together! (350 with a 200r4 transmission) Eisier to install the torque converter etc out of the car IMHO.

Much easier to remove and re-install as a unit, especially if the dog house is out of the way

use a tilter for either. 20 to 40 dollar part at a parts store or harbor freight i did mine that way and it was much easier also.
