I need a source / part # for the correct darker blue engine paint for a 71 442 / big block. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

 

Fusicks or Napa is supposed to have the correct colours for Olds engines.

 

i got mine from the parts place in aerosol cans. heres what it looked like. i think its spot on but im no expert.

Supercars Unlimited has a great color match. I advise when you paint the engine to use exhaust manifold paint first. That cast gray color that is ultra high temp. Use it as a primer and your engine will have the same cast gray color as a base. This will make the color go on much better and be uniform. Most engines after hot tank and rebuild are kind of multicolored and the end color is kind of funky as a result. I have done this on a few engines with great success.
