it's amazing what a bit of cleaning will do

Please share with us how you accomplished this? IE: steam cleaning, simple green, soap and water , exactly what you did, if you don't mind!

 

you see how dirty the 1st pic is? it was just dirt, years and years of dirt and dirt and dirt. not really any rust, or grease for that matter. but the 1st of several processes was degreasing with orange cleaner and hosing, several times. then came tire shine, but that did not do a thing, the inner fenders were so dried out and all the rubber and plastic was so dull I was at wit's end. did not know what to do. One night I was fixing something AND BY MISTAKE got WD40 overspray on the inner fenders. Bingo. I just soaked everything with WD40 for the last several days, and it penetrated just how I wanted it to, and looks great, but not with that armorall greasiness, and I assume it's penetrating into unseen areas too.

This car was in Texas for many years, and had the dirt to prove it, but I think the dirt actually protected it.

One of the things on my infamous "things to do" list is to clean my motor... by hand. Thanks for the info... get ready to buy stock in WD-40 everyone!

your power booster looks brand spanking new. nice job!

 

the WD 40 trick works great on 4 wheelers also. just soak everything down and let it sit. just fire it up after a day or so and let the smoke clear before you take it to town. it realy does a great job.
