Drop spindle - disc conversion incompatibility?

1968 Cutlass Supreme - Getting parts together to swap front to discs, have come across a few brake packages that state that they are not compatible with drop spindles.

Can anyone take a stab at what the incompatibility might be? Is there something obvious that I could be overlooking?

From the pics all the kits look pretty identical. Backing plates perhaps?

Not a clue, without more info on which kits you are talking about. The normal A-body drop spindles accept the factory-style caliper brackets with no issues.

I'll add that if the aftermarket kit is designed for DRUM brake spindles, no it will not fit because the drop spindles mimic the disc brake spindle bolt boss.

Apologies, the description of Speedway Part# 91031958 says the kit wont work with their 2' drop spindle.

If I had allowed the coffee to kick in, I might have seen that this was only a specific spindle for a silly ol Camaro.

Disaster averted! Ha! Thanks Joe
