A 455 swap for a 350 is the easiest swap imaginable. Everything is a direct bolt in. Transmission, motor mounts all engine accessories all can be reused. A 455 will cost roughly the same to rebuild. Look up a old hot rod magazine article called "junk yard dog".

I found those magazine articles in the library back in the late 80s, it was the build “Bible” for my car. I referenced it frequently when I first did the 455 swap.

Many year later, I meet Marlin Davis at the Car Craft Street Machine Nationals. I talked with him for quite awhile about that car, the things he did with it that never made it into the magazine, and how much fun he had with it. He told me he sold the car an about a year before that event.

A few years ago the “Junkyard dog” article came up in a Facebook Oldsmobile page, I talked to the guy that bought it from Marlin. Once again, the car had been sold.

I wonder if it’s still out there?
