Dash Pad Shell Install

Has anyone tried this to there dash.

I used one similar years ago on a mustang it looked good on a driver, but inspection would easily show it was a cover. its a quick easy way to make your dash look good IMO but if you want more than looks good from inside you know what you gotta do !!!

I was afraid of that being a bandage. Now looks like I'm spending the big bucks. And they are hard to find.... Good ones that is.

if you prep the old pad a little,they fit really well and almost impossible to tell not real til ya touch it..

the secret is to use a steak knife and cut all the leading edges off the old pad so the cap slips on far enough, not to see the edges..ive done a few dozen...really hard to tell unless you touch

the leading edge is the part you can actually touch when you are sitting in the car..just trim 1/4 inch or so off..any high spots etc..smooth it all off with a good steak knife til it slips on and youre set to glue..use silicone and it wont come off

no one trims the old pads...so it always looks lumpy and iust too small...ive had them in cars and people where never aware its a cap

I take it that it is a hard ABS cap?
