I live in Alexandria. Good to see another Ky Olds owner.
Their work in pretty good, but their prices and wait time are excessive.
Their are better options with less cost.
Try Qual Krome in Pa....
For bumpers, try Tri Cities in Tenn...

Good luck

nice to meet you Tim, Dustin at wilder creations actually gave me your number a few months ago, said you were the olds guru around here. I have heard of tri cities in tenn, I have also heard D&G wait times were a little long. I just want to make sure the quality is there. The man that built the company passed many years ago and the kids took over, just making sure the quality was still there.

I certainly wasn’t trying to suggest they are bad people, quite the opposite! My interaction with Al was great. They stand behind their work and offer explanation on the processes.
My complaint centered around cost and time to get the product back. In one cars, I was told over a year turnaround for 5 pieces. But I am sure with a family contact, you would be able to get things done cheaper and quicker.
Thanks
tim

I didn’t take it as you were saying anything negative. That’s why I’m asking the public’s opinion.

A lot of 65 trim is pot metal... A phone call to your chromer may reveal a lot. Some shops dont do potmetal and the ones who do are EXPENSIVE. And some shops grind away lots of detail for chroming pot metal. I have used Qualchrome, they specialize in pot metal chrome. One quarter spear for my 67 cost well over 300 dollars. I would suggest if you have a shop in mind call them or drive over with your pieces and let them look, quote, and explain exactly what they will do with the process. These parts are too scarce to have a shop ruin them...

didn't even think of that. i have read about shops not being able to get the texture on the rear tail panel of the 65 right. trying to do my research before i just drop off every piece to the car and say have at it, so thanks. i am not cutting any corners on this car, i certainly want the chrome to be right.
