Cutlass S or Supreme? Which way to go?
Cutlass S or Supreme? Which way to go?
I have a question if some members could give me some advice. My car was orginally a Cutlass S per the VIN built in Oshawa, Ontario. However, the body rusted out here in CNY so PO got a body from Nevada and replaced it. However, I have come to find out the body was a 69 Cutlass Supreme. SO, here is my dilemma. Do I try to convert the body back to a Cutlass S ( need new hump hood, not flat hood from the Supreme, and need to locate and put on peak molding for Cutlass S since it was standard equipment?) or do I leave as is a Cutlass Supreme on the outside, minus CS emblem on vinyl roof but, interior is a Cutlass S and so says the VIN. Getting peak molding is difficult to find and the hood would still be wrong. This car is a driver, and not a show car. I just want to enjoy it, however, was trying to decide if try to go back to Cutlass S trim. I do have both types of tail lights and car currently has beat up Cutlass Supreme door panels. I do not have the lower molding that came on the Cutlass Supreme. So I really have parts from both Cutlass S and Supreme. Just leave it a mishmash of both and enjoy, or try to go one way or another? Any advice? Thanks.
