Just curious, what's everybody's feelings on OPGI? Haven't seen them mentioned much. I may be having issues with them, I'll let you know.

 

This has come up before, probably I was in the mix on them all... I ordered seat covers for my 67 post car. Color was more pearl than parchment. I kept them to find the rear seat covers were too small. I sent them back and they said nothing was wrong with the covers. They suggested the seat was changed and that is why the rear covers were too short. I a person 40+ years of fooling with Oldsmobiles knew the seat was original. They asked if I was the original owner of the car which I said NO. They said then I dont really know if the seat was swapped. I said no bigger than stock seat could fit in there anyway and they said well I could get a refund if I wanted. Well I already had the front covers put on by the shop so I could not return. I ended up buying xtra material so the shop could enlarge the rear covers.

Situation 2, I ordered a 3 row radiator and found the lower hose outlet was too small for my stock radiator hose. I called them and they said they never heard about the problem with any others they sold. I ended up having a shop swap out the outlet on the rad for a larger one. I am done with OPGI and PUI parts.

 

Overpriced. You can find the exact same parts on ebay for a lot less.

This problem isn't unique to OPG. I had to go through several suppliers to find seatcovers that didn't have that funky pearlescent sheen when doing my interior. I never did find a boot cover that was in a proper parchment shade, so I just live with it.

 

I have used them in the past and have had no issues. Products that I ordered were of good quality and comparable in price to the other Oldsmobile suppliers.

I guess it depends on what you are ordering...

 

I've never ordered upholstery from them, but in other transactions they have been fine.

 

I have ordered some things from them, most have been ok. The heater reseal kit was junk in my opinion. I think their shipping is too expensive, and alot of their parts are more expensive than other companies.

Plenty of other aftermarket vendors with the same parts too. As with basic shopping you have to know what you want and who sells it for the best prices. Some vendors sell some prices at discount to attract continued purchases, but it's a balance of total product purchase and shipping cost. Get the best value from each vendor. Sometimes it's worth paying a little more for sole source parts supply if the shipping is a great offset but I've not run into that.

If you feel vendor loyalty is your motivation factor that's your choice. I like to keep an open mind. I also have a list of favorites on my puter that has over 50 vendors for various items.
