I guess what they r saying is can't just send us your money and stay at home. When safety is an issue I can see that but landscaping come on how much money does this event bring. It's got to be in the millions hire a few more poice a prove more ot what ever. Buy new landscaping when it's over.

Me and a friend have been going for a few years his go's along. We are 2 of 3400 cars each year we pay for next year at this year's event $40 each we save $10 each.I spent probably $750 my spent probably $1200.
Like I said were safety is a concern I'm all 4 it there's a big difference between a little burn out and all out racing. If you've never been there. You wouldn't believe it. There s cars with whelly bars and drag shoots.

I've been going to these shows for the last few years. I trailered my 70 there last fall and had a great time! I used to drive it down there in the nineties. It is pretty well behaved for as many cars that are there. Sure there are burnouts and such but that is half the fun I think. It is the best car show I will probably see for quite sometime. I will be going down on October for sure!

So once again, a few bad apples cause problems for everyone else.
In any case, what's the big deal? From what I read, they want to enforce existing open container laws (a good thing), prevent destruction of property (also a good thing), and prohibit trailer parking on public property (frankly, I'm not a fan of trailer queens). Can't get too spun up about any of those.

"Never underestimate the stupidity of people in large groups."
At a famous cruise night, I once watched a Mustang II loose control during a burnout and drive into a crowd of onlookers. Thankfully, the injuries were all minor.

I think it might have something to do with people drinking from a 30 pack as apposed to $4 drafts and $6-10 mixed drinks. Also some trailer ed car have very low gears.

Last year I wasn't there but there was a rod that the throttle stuck on it t-boned a classic car, Camero I think and pushed it into another car at the inlet. Major damage to all three cars. They said if it hadn't hit the cars it would have been on the board walk. I tried to find pictures but could not find any . funny they were every where before.
