I don't know, but isn't (01E) 5th week of January 1964 too early for 442 production?

Car might be worth it but not a 64 442 with out the air cleaner. They made lots of 64 Cutlass, F-85 that were 4 spd cars Buyer be ware.

read the description, he says the original carb, air cleaner & other parts are included - is 01E too early?

The Original hub caps are included, along with the original exhaust manifolds, Rochester 4-jet carb & the original dual snorkel 442 air cleaner assembly.

Yeah, I saw that car. The 442 option was publicly released for sale in March 1964. The earliest known DOCUMENTED 1964 442 has a 03A build date, and it's a Canadian car so it's well documented. I was especially interested in the fact that the data plate on that CL car has no ACC codes at all, and it's a Lansing car, not Fremont. A real 442 would at least have a "2L" ACC code to signify the cutout for a four speed shifter. Draw your own conclusions.

Thanks all... Because the ad it has been up for several days, I suspected a problem with the 442 claim. This is why I hate badged up fakes in the hobby. Somebody somewhere will try to pass off it as the real deal.

Could a 442 come out of any plant in 1964?

A nice car. But I'd only be willing to pay Cutlass/F85 premium dollars for it not 442 dollars.
It's a well-executed restoration on a clean car.
If it could be had for 20 or less you wouldn't be upside down nor could you build a car that clean for that.
I think the seller knows this otherwise he'd be asking 35-40 with proof.

It's not a Cutlass, it's an F85 Club Coupe (style number 3027), which brings up an excellent point - bucket seats were NOT available on the 1964 F85 models, only on the Cutlass and V6 Sport Coupe models. In fact, Trim Code 903 on that cowl tag is a blue cloth bench seat. Consider the BS meter pegged.
