Cragar Screamer Rims
Cragar Screamer Rims
I want to put new rims on my car and think I will be going with the Crager SS rims I like the look. While window shopping on ebay I came across a set of Cragar Screamer rims

I actually have these on my 86 cutlass project, are they really worth that much money. I do not have center caps but if I could get 1/2 of what hes asking I will be selling them to fund my new rims.

It depends. Imo they are not worth the money specially when there are reproductions and much less price wise and much better quality. The nostalgia scene has driven the prices sky high . I sold a set of western mags kinda like the screamers for 350 for the pair. A bit over priced but it was ebay I put them up on so it was worth whatever anyone was willing to pay.
Hrh makes a reproduction which they offer in many sizes more offerings than the american racing ansen slots under the slt line. You can get them in 15x4 to 15x7 and I think even 17's . If the op. Is trying to make money on the ones he has they would have to be something unique . Many companies made the slots . Ansen , astro , american racing , western wheel , etc etc. You might be able to get some decent money for them but I doubt you will get 2500. Now if they where something like the motor wheel fly's or spyders those bring in big bucks in the 2500 range .

Cragar SS rims are my choice as well, I had to my wedding off for a few years in order to save up to buy them Ha Ha!!! Although I think I spent more in rubber trying to save during those few years .
Those Cragars really set your car off Mac !! Looks awesome.
Cheers

The new style aluminum cragars look the same BUT !, the lip is a lot better looking imo cleaner and gives more of a deep dish appearance with less offset . I said it before cragars are a bit cliche to me. They do look great but I'm a fan of the odd ball stuff like the motor wheel spiders , the motor wheel fly's the cragar sst's . I'm am a big fan of slots but only in the big and little combo 15x4 in the fron 15x8 or 10 in the back. I do like cragars in littles and bigs too but they are heavy.

All good, I think I will just keep them I really like the way they look on my 86. Hopefully I will pick up a set of SS for my 67 this month, I think they will look sweet on my car.
I ended up going with the universal fit, against all advice from this forum. They seems to work fine though. Maybe a little harder to put on and take off and I imagine the chrome will wear inside the lug holes a little faster but it's all I could find in the sizes I wanted without waiting months for a special order.
I love the old school look.
