Correct engine color

I have a 61 215 2 barrel engine here on the stand and I'm going to be building it now that all the machining has been completed.
I'm trying to find the correct color to paint it or it's going 63 394 red as I have this paint on the shelf.
Any help would be appreciated, I have checked all my manuals and can't find it there or I missed it.
Thanks Steve

The correct answer is D) none.

The 215s were bare aluminum. The steel valve covers were painted silver to match.

OK Joe, That makes life even easier, the engine had a life time amount of grime so I stuck it in my parts washer and boiled it clean before taking it apart.
Thanks

I do have a question on this. Was the top side of the intake gasket painted silver? I have taken two of them off and both engines had never been apart. Both intake gaskets were in bad condition and could not tell very well. It looked like they were painted but I am not 100% sure.

Hi Eric,
Can't help you here, the engine had been taken apart to fine out what was wrong then half assed back together so the gasket had been changed.
