Correct black paint for non-A/C heater box

I am restoring the non-A/C heater box under the dash in my 1972 Cutlass, and since I have to paint it anyway, I was wondering what the correct black color is.

Thanks in advance.

I think he's referring to the heater car box INSIDE the car. If so, semi-flat to flat.

Yes, on the inside under the dash. Thanks!

Yes I misread his question. I'm sorry and I'll try to be a better person regardless of my shortcomings.

Your answer was completely out of line and inexcusable Mike! I don't know if you can be a better person any more.....we've lost all hope.

The heater box inside the vehicle, under the dash, that I have worked with all have a somewhat textured finish. I've used Eastwood's 2K black primer in their spray cans (the mixing in the spray can is itself an interesting product) with excellent results. I soaked the heater box in Evaporust for about a week which removed the original paint, adhesives, and of course rust prior to painting. If I was to do another heater box I would follow the same procedure.

Yep. I cut the spot welds from the back section so I could remove all the doors. My rust was extensive due to a heater core leak. She is soaking as I type.
