I recall the first one of those I saw back before I started driving. It was a plain LeMans wagon, though - white, Cragar wheels, wide tires on back, and the 455 emblem on the rocker panel. I thought oh wow what a cool car! I think that is where my love of wagons started.

Get on your bad motor scooter and RIDE! If that song doesn't make your right foot turn to lead, I don't know what would.
That's a cool wagon for sure. But it looks like when the "original" carb was "rebuilt", 2 barrels were added somehow.
I've done 135 MPH in my old '76 T/A, but I wouldn't want to get near 140 in any A-body unless it had some serious aero mods to keep it on the ground.

Very cool ride. I recall watching a wagon like that one launch at Union Grove Dragway in the late 70's. The car twisted something awful but it was one of the quickest launching "stock" class cars I ever saw.

Jim Hand is somewhat of a legend in the Pontiac community. With a pump gas, iron headed 455 he had his 71 lemans wagon in the mid 11's in the late 1990's. I saw him run some time around 1996 and it was a sight to see that wagon move. There are a couple old videos on youtube of his runs.
