Cool Olds collectible find
Cool Olds collectible find
When I was in SoCal last week I stopped in to a scale model railroad hobby shop with my bro in law. I was just poking around while he was buying some stuff for his dad when I saw this in the display case. A 61 super 88 4dr ht with U.N.C.L.E insignia
An Olds and U.N.C.L.E? Had to have it. Its a Corgi, not sure what the scale is but its about 4 in. long. It wasn't cheap - I paid $125.00 for it. I looked it up and a mint one with the box is worth about 500 bucks.
One of the spotties has been broken off and there is supposed to be a doodad on the top that you press which makes Mr. Solo and Mr. Kuryakin lean out of the windows pistols in hand. Check the bullet holes in the windshield.
Funny thing is - Solo drove a ragtop impala in '64 and they all switched to mopars for the next three seasons. Nary an Olds in the bunch.
