Cool "Old"s picture

Thought everyone might enjoy this. Here is the same view in November 2016 taken from Google street view. As we can see in the older image, the cross street is South 4th Street. It's actually South 4th Street to the left and North 4th Street to the right as Fremont Street is where the streets change from north to south in downtown Las Vegas.
This photo was taken at the corner of South 4th Street and Fremont Street and looking northwest. In the 2016 photo, the only thing recognizable is the Trader Bills. The Hotel Fremont is still there, but it is now called the Fremont Hotel and Casino. The McDonalds is still there as well, but you can't see any of this because of the canopy over Fremont Street, which was built in 1995 as part of the new "Fremont Street Experience."
Based on the cars in the photo, I'm guessing it dates from around 1970, so there's an approximately 47 year difference between the photos.

I was there last year after Xmas with my wife and NO kids. Had a great time. My only suggestion about going Freemont St is watch your wallets/purses/belonging's. While your watching all of the outside shows/bands and looking up at the Laser canopy above all the creeps/ scam artists and pickpockets are watching everything you do. Keep your stuff close and watch your surrounding's. Saw quite a few close calls. Just my 2 cents. MJS
