Convertible frame

Are convertible frames still rare? I know they are different, are they still in demand?

There probably isn't a huge demand for them , because there aren't a lot of convertibles out there .
But , they are hard to find as hen's teeth if you need one .
If you have a good one , keep it and advertise it . Sooner or later you will see someone who desperately needs it .

What year and models are we talking about.? Back in the day I would bring back model T and other twenties, thirties frames back on my ghost town adventures in the desert of Nevada, always sold them ,Paid for most of my gas. I'm sure 50's convertible stuff is in demand. I wold buy for investment purposes any mid fifties convertible stuff that wasn't reproduced. As far as the new stuff 60" through 90's you will have to ask some one who knows those new cars better than me....Tedd

Well, considering that they haven't made any since 1972, I don't see how they could become any LESS rare...

The problem with convertible frames is that the box section holds in moisture and dirt, causing rust.

Sorry for the slow response. I'm not very good with links but American Metal Direct (AMD) The Parts Place and OPGI all list the frames in their catalog. They are likely all made by the same company. The blue car in my sig panel as well as the red 442 I'm working on right both have new top frames from AMD.

Perhaps some confusion on this, I think the OP is talking about the vehicle frame, not the convertible top frame. I may be mistaken though.

My mistake on the chassis frames. I had rag tops on my mind, it was about to rain and mine was sitting outside with the top down.... Tedd
