Is it a national holiday?
What's a collector car??
Scares me, politicians and cars don't mix well. A Lincoln and an Olds come to mind right away.
Government workers probably get the day with pay off, that's why they made it on a Friday, long weekend.
They couldn't make it like the second Saturday in July or something like that? Leave it up to "real" car guy lobbyist that sell new Chinesium parts and politicians to set the date.
The same date as,
"Day to Honor Workers Who Make Junk Repo Parts for Running Dog Imperialist Corporate Pig Collector Cars Day" in China maybe?
Not all bad, surprised they didn't make it January 9th so they could go on a fact finding jaunt to the Bahamas to celebrate.
Most people have to work on Friday, I guess it's for the retired and unemployed people with "collector cars".
Most retirees sell their old cars and buy bikes now though, they're all "Looking for America".
Those motor-tricycles are popular with them, two wheelers are too risky, don't want to fall over sitting at a light and break a hip.

I don't think it's a holiday like July 4th or Labor Day. It's just a designated day like "Secretaries Day" or something like that.
As far as what's a collector car, I'm sure it will be anything you want it to be. It's been pushed by SEMA. Their members make parts for everyone. They wouldn't want to exclude anybody.
