I have a bad habit of letting classics sit too long (weeks) between driving .. then it's alway an adventure getting them to start .. seeking advice/guidance on two cars .. a 1949 Series 76 6 cylinder first .. how best to start, especially given the relatively weak 6V battery? thanks

 

This is normal for carb'd engines. You can fill the float bowl through the vent tube before starting or use some starting fluid.
