CO Meet At The 2017 Nationals - Gauging Interest
I don't believe Pat is going this year to Albuquerque, so I thought I'd investigate what options we might have for a get together this year. In reading through JWO, the host club has reserved some meeting rooms for chapter meets and possible tech events, and still have some available at the host hotel. I called and spoke with Linda Surran about whether one might be available for us, and she enthusiastically said yes. So, to maximize how many people might attend, I'm thinking of arranging a CO get together - similar to last year's at the hotel bar - on Friday, July 21 from 2 - 4:30PM for adult beverages, project updates, and general carrying on. I don't believe this conflicts with any other events, and the racing program doesn't start till 5:00PM - a very short distance away. The room we can use will accommodate 50, have tables and chairs provided, and can have a cash bar can be set up for our use. Reply back whether the usual suspects or anyone new or wants to do this again this year and I'll get it set up.

Thanks guys - anyone else? I've got to let them know by no later than June 10th to reserve the room. Don't want to speak for 70Post, but I'm sure he'll be there - but what about Cincy Rick, and our Mike from Alabama?

I am going to be at the 2017 OCA Nats. in the swap meet area. I could make myself available for some "Olds Lansing Assembly" and factory racing stories since I will be with some friends who can watch over my parts during that time.
Also, I would like to provide "facts" about the quality and how Olds cars were built (A and B/C body 68-73 era) at each plant. This is in reference to statements in the June 2017 issue of Muscle Car Review "Letters Section" made by an assembly line worker at the Framingham, Mass. plant. Although I was never at the Framingham Assembly Plant the warranty claims, customer complaints to dealers/zone sales reps, and low amount of repeat customers are factors in the level of quality at this plant. I can speak on authority on this subject as I was "on loan from the Service Dept." to the Quality Control and Engineering Dept. to study these subjects, improve quality, and lower warranty costs at all plants.

I believe the entire family will be at the Gettysburg for 2018

Well that is settled! I will call Linda tomorrow and confirm when it is all completed, but I'm pretty sure Friday from 2:00 to 4:30 will be it.
Everyone else who might come, keep posting - it will help with the final arrangements.
Patton, got any more name tags?

The CO Meeting at the OCA Nationals is confirmed.
It is set for Friday the 21st from 2:00 to 4:30PM. The conference room we will have can accommodate up to 50 and will be set up with several round tables. Our event will also be listed in the Official OCA event agenda, but we missed the deadline for getting it in JWO. I am going to be speaking with the hotel directly about the cash bar and will post details soon.
It would be great if a CO moderator were to attend to provide us with Tips & Tricks on using CO. There's a lot of features/bells and whistles here I know I've never used.

Update
The CO get together will be held at the previously announced time and date in the Coronado Room at the host hotel. Cash bar is arranged. Will post a new thread shortly before the event reminding everyone about it.

Here's a satellite view of the hotel and parking areas. The young lady at the front desk said the show field was going to be directly in front of the lobby entrance. (South part of hotel in image) In the same breath she told me the swap meet was in the indoor convention center. Something tells me this is not correct. Maybe someone from the local Olds club will see this post and point out where the swap meet and show field are actually going to be.

We should roll in on Thursday, If we are not ballooning that day I'll come by to visit.
Update: I've made our reservations for a balloon ride on Friday morning early. I should not have any problems coming by..

Well that stinks Dave. I was looking forward to catching up and spending some money with you on parts for the W-31. I've also been meaning to call, just been rather busy. We'll catch up at MCACN. Take care of yourself.

Hope your health issues get better soon.

Sorry to hear Dave. Hope you recover soon.
So far, Patton, Cincinnati Rick, Nderise, and myself are here. Sound off when you arrive.
Show field seems well arranged and convienient, trailer parking might be a little tight, but the security coverage seems excellent. (We arrived last night - saw at least two rent a cop cars on site)
Checked out the Coronado room location - seems OK.
All having a great time catching up, and a BIG thanks to Rick for threading my trailer into its' parking spot like a boss.
