Cleaning Engine sludge--Seafoam good? Bad?

There are numerous discussions about seafoam. In the Gas it's fine. However,
When it's added to the oil,some say it's a No No.Others say:Add a bottle,drain oil,add a bottle,drain oil,add a bottle drain oil.3 times.That is expensive.At least for me.What about 100.00.
Others said to remove valve cover gaskets, clean out the gunk first, then change oil 3 times in a row(with seafoam)
o any of these methods reduce any carbon emissions(smoke) out of the back exhaust(car)In other words, will it reduce stinky smoky fumes?
There is no black smoke.I just want to get rid of the freakin fumes!

Fumes?

Cleaning gunk out of the inide of your engine (and, in my opinion, risking getting gunk into places where it shouldn't be) will do nothing to change anything about your exhaust.
