cheap [$20] DTC code reader review- positive
I recently got one of these for the more modern parts of the fleet
Works OK
Like the advisor said, why pay $300 for one that tells you the code meaning and is HARD TO LEARN TO USE when anyone can learn this two button unit w/o the manual in two minutes, then go look on the interwebs for what that stuff means and what the most likely cause is.
I just used it to diagnose and fix the EGR on the family car, then erase the code so that the CEL went away.
I recommend one of these if you do not have one yet.
