Center onsole 1992 Custom Cruiser

Probably the wrong place: Need new/old/repairable front center console for a 1992 Custom Cruiser, reddish/maroon in color. Anybody? Appreciate the help.

Hi Aron, please define center console.

OCC's never had a traditional console that fit below the dash and up to the seats, with or without buckets. Impala SS had one but it had buckets (you can fake it by removing the right side extension from the driver seat bottom).

I made a console for my OCC from a '74 console, pix here:

(page thru to find the interior pix near the bottom).

If you are looking for the cupholder/ashtray module, I may have an extra.

Good luck on your search.

Great looking Custom Cruiser! Thanks for the inspiration. I DID NOT know there was an extension on the passenger seat that could be removed that would free up the center space, so that I true center console from an earlier model Olds could be installed. When I have time, will investigate. Thanks again for responding to an old Olds question.

Hi Aron, here are some links that show you how it's done.

http://www.impalasuperstore.com/nais...80&whichpage=4 (near the bottom)

http://www.impalassforum.com/vBullet...revisited.html

If you are not already a member, IMPALASSFORUM.COM is a wealth of info for our cruisers, especially maintenance and modifications. There is a wagon-specific area and all the mechanical issues works for us, just remember that TBI and LT1 information is lumped together.

I did mine different. I just mounted the '92 bases under the '74 buckets, all it needed was re-drilling the 4 mounting holes. That way I got 6-way old buckets (they look cool, but as seats they still suck, just like the did in '74).

I do miss your articles in JWO.

Good luck.

Jim: Been very busy at job, but on the way in this AM, looked at the Passenger seat, and thought, "What?". Thanks, again, for the additional post, and makes total sense, now. Do the Driver's side! Looks like project time, once again. Thanks for the Kudos on the articles in JWO. Was a fun run, but don't miss the deadlines. Thanks again.
