Cha-Ching!!! I was going to mention this yesterday, but didn't want to start a "political" debate!! I know there are folks who don't approve of casinos. I voted FOR the casino - I think it will be a good thing for Ohio's economy. I've always voted for the casino each time it's been on the ballot - and it's been defeated so many times - I can't believe it passed this time!!
I'm happy! At least I can leave my money in my own state instead of supporting Michigan, Iowa, and West Virginia, where we usually go to gamble! Let's start building those babies!!!

I agree with you completely, and I have voted for casinos in Ohio each time it comes up, too. People are adults. If they want to gamble, let them gamble. Heck, we have bingo, we have horse racing, and the state runs its own weekly gambling opportunity known as the lottery. Seems hypocritical for the state to say we can have our gambling but you can't have yours. Tax them and regulate them all you want, but might as well build them.

There are casinos in states around Ohio, and those states haven't been brought to their knees. Why should our gambling dollars go there? They're already going there now. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

They are probably worried that the state run lotto will suffer from people spending their money in the casino. Whatever eh , we have had them here for awhile now and the gov. still makes out ok on the lotto. here the gov. also has hundreds of those electronic gambling machines that people line up for to put their dough in. To keep everybody happy they have to have gambling help line and counseling for the folks that think they can always make money off those machines. Well we don't outlaw alcohol cause we have alcoholics.Same with them nutty bingo ladies that play like 30 cards all at once. When I went to bingo many years ago I could not keep up with 4 cards. I guess it takes practice
