Sad how people will let cars rot away like that and not sell to those who wish to restore them. If they want them, they should at least protect them some!

I drove the Vista in this pic from somewhere in OH (IIRC....maybe IL) to this location ( central IN) around 1990. I remember it being like a 3-4 hour drive. The owner had me along as a helper/driver & we headed out at 0-dark:30 & I dozed most of the way there.

He had made a deal for a ton of parts and the Vista.

The Vista was very beat. Wobbly steering, bald tires, rotted exhaust, no working dash and it was packed full of parts. So many parts that just the drivers seat was open. I could only see out the front and my side. It was pouring rain for most of the trip & cold. I had to keep both driver side windows part open so I could breathe, the wipers barely worked, & the windshield kept fogging up so I was constantly wiping a hole to see .

Ahhhhhh....memories....!

There would be something cool about driving that red 442 just the way it is (provided its mechanically sound).
