Carol Vanalstine

Just a short note to pass,
One of Classic Olds members wife has passed away.
Richard Vanalstine's "Oldsmorat" Lost his wife Carol Thursday night after a 6 month fight with Cancer.
I have never met Rich .We talk 2 or 3 times a week and have for the past 2 years. If you have ever had the pleasure of talking to Rich you will find a man that talks from the heart. Not many of those left.
Please keep Rich and his Family in your thoughts and prayers.
Situation reversed ..I know he would..

Just wanted to say thank you. To everybody for your prayers for me and my family. Carol fought a good battle. But it wasn't to be we had are 36th anniversay on May 15th. She felt great. But the next day she started feeling bad. But she hung in there.
She wanted to see our 67 442 get done so she could drive it. It didn't happen my friends helped so hard to make it happen. I have a special friend in in Ron Roth. he has been a friend for so long never meet him but i feel like i've knowed him forever.
Thank you
God bless everyone on the OC

With Rue My Heart Is Laden

With rue my heart is laden For golden friends I had,
For many a rose-lipt maiden And many a lightfoot lad.
By brooks too broad for leaping The lightfoot boys are laid;
The rose-lipt girls are sleeping In fields where roses fade.
A.E. Housman (1859-1936) 1896

It's me Richard. We had Family veiwing tonight. but I had 150 people show up. All our Friends who have cars and race cars .I didn't know i had that many friends that we have knowed all these years. Showed up to say there last forwell. They said they will be there tomorrow. With something special. Can't wait to see what they have planned. Me and the kids are doing fine. Larry is 43. And Leanne is 40. So they are not little kids. It makes everything alot easier. Far as me I'll be here on the CO. Looking at everything that i can help with. And i want to say a special thanks to my best buddy
RON AND SYD ROTH. Carol really wanted to come to the Woodard Ave. Cruise this year. I still thinks she would want me to come with all the cars. Well I'm wore out i did to get some sleep. I'll post what happens tomorrow. With pics. Love everybody on the old CO.
God bless everyone

Hello everybody. We laid Carol to rest yesterday. We had a large group to her graveside. 200 +. We had over 100 muscle. street cars and drag cars and rat rods show up. Lots of my old Drag Racing Buddies who I use to race. And my new friends I have at the car shows. Me and the kids are taking a few days to regroup. I will be back on the air real soon.
God bless the CO.
TAKE CARE

You know, it's strange that this thread came back to top today. Our morning church service today was "A Day of Prayer for Those Touched by Catastrophic Diseases".

Richard, Leanne, and Larry- the congregation of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Danville VA offered prayers and remembrance for Carol and for you this morning. Yes, it's a little down the road timewise, but just so you'll know that she and y'all are not forgotten.
