Car show

I went to the Good Guys car show in Raleigh, NC this weekend and I'm shouting this out loud...WHERE WERE THE OLDSMOBILES??????
Hundreds of cars, mostly Chevy's, I mean how many 55,56 and 57 Chevy's and Cameros should someone have to endure and have to pay for it to boot!!!!
I'll only attend Good Guys shows that have drag racing from now on. They do that well.

I went to a car show about 15 miles from here a week ago today with my '68 4-4-2. There were over 100 cars at the show - mine was the ONLY Oldsmobile. Just like you - tons of Chevys (and Fords with Chevy engines!). There were a few Pontiacs and Buicks as well, but mine was the only Olds.

I went to a show Saturday and it was about 100 cars and I was the only Oldsmobile there. Some pimpdaddy came driving through and the most god awful Cutlass I had ever seen. It was about an 85 model with at least 24 inch rims on it. He was probably too late to register and passed on through. I would have taken a picture so you guys could get a good laugh. This thing was bad and I don't mean BADD. I did manage to go home with a trophy. I entered the convertible class and beat a late model ZL1 Camaro that the guys had spent several thousand dollars customizing. He took second place.

Good point. The only Mercury was a pristine 50 model that was stock and with the exception of the last model Challengers that was one Dodge (about a 68) with a Hemi in it.

One of the things that I love about Olds is there arent that many at these shows . Chevy and Fords are a dime a dozen . When I bought my Cutlass I actually set out to buy a Mustang, but after going to a few shows I realized they arent that rare. Besides whats not to love about a nice Olds?

Went to camaro show last fall at Summit Racing and realized less than 20 percent were older camaros. Most of them were the newer musclecars .

Get used to it. We just had our show down here in southern Maryland 2 weeks ago. Smaller than normal turnout because of the weather. But, out of the 400+ cars, only 2 Olds (and one of those was mine).

The great thing about that though is that many more people come over to check it out, rather than the camaros or mustangs. And everyone says the same thing. It's always "I used to have one" or "I remember my Dad had one". It's a great conversation starter.
