I plan on going on Saturday morning. Love that show. Need to get my air conditioning to blow cold air. Otherwise it's a long drive with open windows!

I will be there all weekend weather permitting. I will be coming with some cars from my area (not Olds), so will probably have to park with them. Very interested in meeting on Sunday just tell me where and when.

I'll make sure our members in the east know about what you're doing. Let me know how things went and I'll add a story in our newsletter. Good luck.

Craig, I'd love to go but I'm retiring on Monday Jun 6 and that would be a heck of a "Smokey and the bandit beer run" to get back on time. From the promo, looks like and sounds like everyone will have a great time.

Interesting story about that.

Around 2 years ago, I was going through the shop and noticed one of our electro vehicle mechanics 'working' in the cab of one of the trains. I stopped, thinking I would talk with him after he had completed his systems check.

Around an hour later the shop clerk came by and asked "What's up?" I pointed to the cab of the train and said, "that guy is one of the laziest people we have on staff, He's done absolutely nothing for the last hour, not even moved. (actually it looked a lot like he'd fallen asleep). "How do you know that" was her obvious question.
"Cause I've stood here for an hour doing nothing but watch him" I said.

True story. However I have to say that's not the normal pattern of work around the shop, nor is it my normal work ethic to do nothing but stand around. It was interesting cannon fodder around the coffe table though....

I'd love to come down to your show. Maybe when we can find a centralized location, or swing something that goes East/West/Central it will work out better.

I had a similar experience in one of my old shops. Except the guy was lying under the dash of a car and was actually knocked out by leaking refrigerant that displaced all the oxygen under the dash.

I said to my co-worker "What a lazy F&*^! Hes fallen asleep under the dash". Until I kicked his boot and got no response.

I attended this event a couple of years ago and it was first class. The grounds that it was held on are beautiful and the cars were amazing. It was worth the 6 hours of driving.

Can't make it this year - my son has hockey championships.
