Hey guys I have a nontilt steering column in my 70 supreme, is it possible to change out the top end on my column with the top end on a tilting one? If so what's involved in it?

It would be a lot easier to just buy a tilt column, they're not hard to install.

What's involved is buying a atilt column, completely disassembling it and your original column, pressing the tilt base casting onto your original tube, and reassembling all the pieces. If you think you can do this to save a few bucks by using a more common later model tilt column as a donor, it is possible but very difficult. Most of the upper column parts are common (at least until the dimmer switch was put on the turn signal lever) and theoretically they can be used, but you'll really be better off getting a correct A-body column.
