Busted Flat in Baton Rouge; And Ripped Off

Found a great car on the web, flew to Austin and bought it, headed for home in SE MI. Made it to Baton Rouge and the trans failed.

A repair facility there supplied me with a one year national warranty via ATRA or the American Transmission Rebuilders Association. Upon check out owner Ben told me "credit card machine was broken" so I paid via check.

I made it home OK but the trans was no good; took it in for repair within the one year. Come to find the trans shop falsified the warranty documents and will not make good on making the repair right.

Hindsight suggest I was played the whole way.

Beware of this guy:

You should have called me,I could have brought my trailer and got you to a real transmission man here. You could have stayed here @ Stone Broke Acres with the Clampetts.

It's probably about 350 to BR but anything to help a good friend. Yes I saw the car and it's very nice.

I learned that lesson a while back ... when stranded, hit the web. There's always someone nearby ready to help.
