Building a 330

I am building a low compression (8.5 calculated) 330. Is there any advantage to setting the cam advanced (or retarded) in this engine? Or just put it in at zero? Bored .030, balanced, #4 heads stock valves, manual transmission, Q-jet on a OL4B intake, VIN 9 307 cam.

I installed a Crower cam 4 degrees advanced in a BB Chevy and had a ton of low-end, but ran out of power @ 6200.
Also retarded a cam in a 351 mustang, and it ran like crap 'til about 3500 - but that's what the owner wanted!
I'd think with a 330, it'd be a benefit, as you'd not go over 6000 anyway!
