I would think it would be in the usual places, under seats, under carpet above gas tank. Unless it was Lansing then you may not find it at all. Is the car unrestored?

I believe they did but did not put them in the car for some reason. The trans may have been changed along with the intake. I think it was 72 before the egr showed up. But do not quote me on this. Hopefully people will chime in and give you correct info. According to this site nobody that has a lansing car has a build sheet for it.

Is there a switch hooked to the gas pedal? Turbo 400 used a switch on the gas pedal for the kick down instead of the rod like a 350

What motor is in it now? Your car could have been special ordered with a 400cid?? I am not familiar with the 68's. Did they have the turbo 350 in 68? or just the 2 speed?

You may be lucky and find the build sheet.
But they were never supposed to left in the cars, just they often didn't get taken out.
I never found a build sheet in some of the cars I've owned, I found one in some others, and found three with carbon copies in a Lincoln.

The accepted wisdom is that build sheets were not left in Lansing-built cars. That was apparently the policy at that plant.

Even if there was a chance that your car has a build sheet, I certainly wouldn't tear the car apart looking for it as they have been reported found in all sorts of places, including inside the door panels, under the carpet, under the front or rear seats, and taped to the top of the gas tank. If you're taking the car apart for other reasons, great, keep an eye out for it, but even non-Lansing-built cars might not necessarily have one, and you could take the car completely apart and never find it.

Teepo's build sheet is under her rear package tray in the trunk area. Part of it was sticking out through a speaker hole in the trunk, lol. I can't get the rest of it out. But she was built in Freemont.

It seems like Linden cars usually have them. The person i purchased my 442 from last year had 2 build sheets, when he got the car restored in 1992 they were found drivers door panel and under back seat. The one in door panel is perfect mint condition and other one is complete. The person i purchased the sx from found the build sheet under the carpet as he was repairing to floor board from rust and it too was complete and very good condition.
