buick v6 in a firenza

been working on a broken timing chain cover bolt for a few days now and finally was able to drill out the rusted in bolt and retap it (easy outs suck!).i found a lot of slack in the timing chain so i replaced the timing chain and gears with a cloyes unit .removing the harmonic balancer and crank shaft gears on these little buick engines is a breeze compared to my olds engines .no pullers needed.so i get to replacing the harmonic balancer seal in the timing chain cover and it was and old rope seal. my new seal is more of a rubber style that just seems to keep popping out after i seat it where it goes.anyone at all ever changed these to the newer style and run into this problem?i dont know if i can even get the old style anymore .
