Blue tooth music through AM radio!
Blue tooth music through AM radio!
Apologize in advance if we cannot comment on a product. I can edit or delete if needed.
I have an AM radio in the Cutlass. Obviously nothing there to listen too. I tried FM converters, left a lot to be desired. Fading in and out, have to keep retuning, etc.
I didn't really want a modern radio but wanted music. I found the site rediscoveradio.com. I spoke with Matt regarding the RediRad Model RR-AM/N radio adapter. I was surprised someone has not already thought of this but Matt said I was the first to ask. Basically wanted to see if I plugged a bluetooth adapter into the 3.5mm jack could I bluetooth the music from my phone to the Redirad. Matt believed it would work and I could return if not happy. The Redirad was $99 and I bought a mpow mini bluetooth 4.0 adapter from Amazon for $20. Simple to hook up and it worked perfectly!! Tried the mp3's from the phone and streaming pandora, both were awesome. Be sure your bluetooth volume and music volume are at half volume or less for best sound. Best money I have spent for something in a long time. Great even if you have an am or fm radio and would like to listen to your music instead.
I called Matt back today after I hooked it up to tell him the good news. He was thrilled it worked. I asked him if he minded if I posted on the forum and he said that if anyone is interested to mention jerseyjoe and he would give free shipping.
Just and fyi, I have no affiliation with Matt or the company and will receive no financial gain from anyone purchasing. I definitely recommend trying if you don't want a modern radio but would like to listen to your music. Matt was awesome and very appreciative for the business. Certainly don't mind supporting an American company.
Shoot me any questions, it was simple to hook up and the bluetooth adapter lasts for up to 10 hours. I had mine playing for a couple hours to test it out and it worked without a hitch.

I have a little portable Bose speaker that is bluetooth, and I use it in Teepo when I'm driving her. I have a ton of old songs on my phone and I paired my phone and the speaker and it works great! The speaker is small enough I just slide it under her seat when I get to the shows or wherever, and I plug my phone charger into her lighter to keep my phone charged. Bose has an excellent sound quality too!

If one is on the cheap, or has no blue or purple teeth, there is another alternative.
Any mp3 player or discman, or walkman can be played through an AM radio with a cheap AM transmitter. These can still be had at electronics hobby stores, intended for kids wanting to explore a career in DJing. They often are small and run of a 9V battery and are easy to use.
