im a frame guy..its what i do...for 25+ years...

you need a frame..the labor to fix would be huge..and i promise theres a lot more wrong than just that...if it wasnt in the control arm pocket...i would try to fix it.

i could fix it....but it wont be pretty...and those frames are so old and brittle...its gonna crack eventually everywhere theres a sharp crease..it really needs a frame..seriously....it needs a frame

 

I'm having trouble seeing the photos. But unless its a convertible frame it should be easy to find a replacement. In my part of the country the round-D-round racers buy 1968-72 GM A body frames for $250 each and use the front third of the frame. At least that's the going rate in Southern Oregon. I'd encourage you to create a parts wanted ad and include your location.

I sold an A-body frame last year for $250 in CA. Your location will be a bit of a factor in what it will cost you for a nice frame.

 

That frame is toast, what's the front clip look like?

 

If you can replace the frame, I'd go that route

 

you done stretched the brake hose beyond its limit also.

 

I believe you guys and all but you are telling me it is not remotely possible to save. The front clip is not bent at all.

 

Take it to a frame shop and see what they say.

 

no,,i would not accept the responsibility of the repair..where the frame is folded over its self is the killer...so..no..its beyond repair..because its not a safe repair

i see 12 to 14 hrs at a minmum at $65 an hr repair time..and it could go up depending on wat else is discovered..damage travels thru the frame it just doesnt stop right there..

it has to have diamond..the front has to be drug over towards the damaged side..it has to,thats the way it works...the frame on that side is 4 or 5 inches shorter right there..

if theres no sheet metal damage like you think...id take a guess and say ot was hit in the wheel, or ya slid into a curb...thats what it looks like to me...but you where moving pretty good for it to wind up in that folded spot..

getting that fold over spot to unwind is a prob..then, you work harden the frame..and its gonna crack..i would bet money, as you pull it..it cracks...it doesnt look bad, but that fold over is a frame killer.

a good frame guy doesnt just grab it and start pulling....a bad frame guy just grabs it..and does more damage to the rest of the frame...ive seen it all my life....holding it and pulling it to repair instead of damaging in other spots..thats the art of the repair..

 

The frame needs to be replaced.
