Do I see a wire grid type (not fan) rear defogger in the ex 71?
Jepp, Jeffrey you`re right, it had a rear defogger, but cant remember if it worked...

the one in my Toronado does not ... it lights up the switch, and the A/C drops a speed (that's the way it's supposed to work according to the books) but it does not clear the window. No biggie, it's in the garage and I am in Florida. I even have all my heatercores bypassed.

Love the embroidered rocket. Very nice touch.

My interior underwent a massive overhaul last summer when I first bought the car.
I bought all new trim pieces, chrome gauge bezel, shifter bezel, all new seat covers, foam, arm rests, etc.

They really soak you on the replacement parts......trust me.
JUST the shifter bezel, trim piece, and shifter lens was almost $200
It's seriously just chromed plastic and fake wood trim.......totally a rip.....

Some very nice pictures in this thread - keep 'em coming!
The green upholstery is pretty nice looking. Does it really have the metallic flakes in it?

Here are a couple of my friends 54 convertible. We bought one of the original dealer manuals with all the pictures and actual fabric/vinyl swatchs and had the trim shop reproduce an original interior. I think it turned out pretty close.

Very, very nice. redoldsman. The interior guys are artists. My interior has a pattern, no metal flake.

OK, Maybe my interior is not the best looking one out there... But this is what the previous owner left me to start with.

My '67 88 Custom Holiday Coupe is getting better all the time. I'll post an appropriate pic of the finished interior, when It's ready to be viewed by the public.
BTW... That's a traffic ticket on the passenger seat. The previous owner was nailed for driving his vehicle with expired tags!

Hey jaybird, seems that the previous owner also had a problem with trash cant wait to see your finished interior ...

Thank god, he didnt cut something in the dash, the rest looks really good as far as i can see on the pics. ......

D Appeldorn, nice ride you have there, i like the color combo!!!!

OK, here's some before-and-after interior/carpet shots of my '73 Custom Cruiser.

The old one was quite a mess, particularly in the front footwell areas, which isn't at all surprising given that it's a 37-year-old carpet.

Now here's a couple of photos of the new carpet just loosely laid in. It is a few inches larger in all dimensions, so some trimming will be necessary.

The new carpet is redder than the old, but not by much if you compare the new to a protected area of the old under the sill plate.

Just wait until I get the carpet cut and fit and the newly upholstered seats back in. It will be awesome!

Okay, you all put mine to shame, but here ya go. My seats are shot, but the glare from the sun covers that up nicely.

Is that odometer correct? Almost 200,000 miles? Looks great for that mileage. Looks good for half that mileage!

You must have DEEEEEP Pockets or a hell of a skillset and patience to get that thing turned around.

I have to give you a big high five for that one. Total transformation and bringing it back to life.
I wouldn't even TRY to return something like that back to good condition.
I'd give up before even trying.

Awesome looking Toronado.

That's funny that you thought of me with the pedals problem corrected,in fact they actually look better in person than in the pic, they look blurry in the pic, they are crisp clean and clear in person...thank you

Very nice!! Thats on my to do list too!! I like your firewall in the other post too, LOL!! Cleaned up nicely! See, I told ya it wasn't ugly! I bought one of those silver "sharpie" markers today to go over my A/C vents with, like I read about in another thread on here somewhere.

And Jeffrey... you'll be happy to know my cup holder isn't burgundy anymore - it's now a lovely green!
