battery cable bracket

battery cable bracket

Anyone have a diagram or picture of correct placement on this ? TH400 auto trans.

It is mounted near the brake dist. valve or proportioning block on the frame. I don't have any pix right now.

Thanks. Hate to admit it but took it off when I did tear down three yrs ago and didn't take a picture or write down in the notebook !

In the future, it would help to tell us the year and model.

Assuming this is a '70 A-body, look at section 12, page 182 of the Product Information Manual (aka Assembly Manual). It shows you where to put it. It also shows you that there's supposed to be an oil-impregnated cardboard tube inside the clamp. Not sure if you knew that, but you certainly don't want your battery cable running through that steel loop all by itself. That's a recipe for uncontrolled arc-welding somewhere down the road.
